Hefeweizens are an easy to make and quick homebrew beer. Literally translates from the German “Hefeweizen” to "yeast wheat" - which is what you get (and some banana and clove - see notes). A great beer at any time of year but best in the summer heat. This is quite a traditional recipe for a German wheat beer. It will get you close to the original Weihenstephan beer and uses a dry version of their yeast. Many Bavarians will look at you funny if you order this beer in the evening - for many it's a breakfast beer (along with Brezeln, Weißwurst und süßer Senf (Pretzels, white sausage and sweet mustard).
